For better connected family life.

Designing a private, multi-generational social platform for families
FamilySpace is a mobile app designed to help families stay connected, share memories, and organize family life in one private, secure space. Unlike public social networks, FamilySpace focuses on intimacy, simplicity, and accessibility across generations, from children to grandparents.I worked as a Product Designer on defining the user experience, interface, and visual direction of the app, ensuring that complex functionality, photo sharing, family groups, memory preservation, remained intuitive and usable for users of all ages. The goal was not to build another social feed, but a calm, focused digital space designed specifically for family relationships.

A private social network built for families, not algorithms
FamilySpace combines the core benefits of social platforms, sharing moments, reacting, commenting, staying connected, with a strong emphasis on privacy, simplicity, and emotional value. Families can create private circles, share photos and videos with unlimited storage, comment and react to moments, and invite only selected family members.
A key differentiator of the product is its focus on memory preservation. The app allows users to scan, restore, and enhance old photographs, turning physical photo albums into shared digital family archives. These features help preserve family history and make it accessible to current and future generations.

Designing an app that works equally well for grandchildren and grandparents
The core challenge was to design a feature-rich mobile app that remains easy and enjoyable to use regardless of age, technical confidence, or digital habits. The product needed to support multiple use cases, social sharing, photo management, memory restoration, without overwhelming users.
From a design perspective, the challenge was to reduce cognitive load, avoid familiar social media patterns that older users often resist, and create a calm, welcoming interface that encourages participation rather than passive scrolling.

Research-driven design focused on simplicity and accessibility
The design process began with research into existing social platforms, family communication habits, and generational differences in digital behavior. Through stakeholder interviews, user shadowing, and cognitive journey analysis, we identified key friction points, complex navigation, overloaded interfaces, and unclear privacy boundaries.
During synthesis, we focused on defining the core problems worth solving and prioritizing features that supported meaningful family interaction. I worked on personas, user journeys, and information architecture to ensure the product remained intuitive across age groups.Design execution followed an iterative approach, with continuous feedback loops and close collaboration with developers to ensure feasibility and performance. The interface was refined through multiple iterations to balance emotional warmth with clarity and usability.

Enhancing family life in the digital era
Bringing generations closer through shared memoriesModern family life is fragmented. Different generations use different tools, live in different places, and communicate in different ways. Younger users often rely on fast-paced social platforms, while older family members feel excluded or overwhelmed by them.
FamilySpace was designed to bridge this gap. The product removes unnecessary features, prioritizes clarity, and focuses on what matters most: shared moments, memories, and presence. By designing for inclusivity and emotional value rather than engagement metrics, the app supports healthier, more meaningful digital relationships.

Preserving memories for the future
Restoring old photos and family historyOne of the key features of FamilySpace is its photo restoration and enhancement functionality. Users can scan old photographs, improve their quality, and store them digitally in shared family collections.
This feature was intentionally designed to be simple and accessible, allowing even older users to preserve and share family history without technical barriers. By combining memory preservation with everyday social interaction, FamilySpace transforms personal archives into living, shared stories.
